In the fall and winter semesters, Marc runs the Open Research Lab Experience for any undergraduate students taking or who have taken an organic chemistry course. Students learn the basics of research while getting hands-on practice doing organic synthesis. Students learns how to set up and run reactions, follow their progress by TLC, workup and purify their products in a low-stress accessible environment.

 

Several student participants in ORL have successfully been awarded UofR UGRA and NSERC USRA's to continue their research over the summers.
